Following a successful ten-year career in the Royal Air Force, I took a facilities management role at Teesside International Airport, not because I wanted to work in FM, I hadn't even considered it to be a career of choice, it was because I had experience working with aircraft. I quite quickly realised that I liked the FM industry, a couple of years into the airport job, I was approached by Churchill Group to look after their first transport contract. Over a ten-year period, I worked my way up to Managing Director- Operations overseeing a multimillion-pound national operation.
