Ashkan's story
)
The following case study shows just some of the amazing people who we have supported into full-time employment:
Ashkan came to the UK from Iran in February 2018, where he was an Accountant for 18 years. We met with Ashkan in February 2021, after he had completed his 12-week hospitality training at The Hotel School. We employed him at NEMI Teas’ sister cafe, TRAMPOLINE Cafe, where he practised running the Café, improved his English skills and gained confidence in himself. Since then he has now become the Manager of the cafe and also provides training to other refugees!
When asked what his favourite part about working at TRAMPOLINE Cafe was, Ashkan says “I always wanted to have a coffee shop or a restaurant but never had the opportunity in Iran. Working at TRAMPOLINE Cafe has made my dream come true. He also mentioned that “I have really enjoyed learning how to manage customers during busy times without becoming stressed.”
Ashkan has taken the time to get to know some of the ‘regulars’ in the Café; he knows their orders and converses with them daily. He is proud of how far he has come with his English and hospitality skills and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
We asked Ashkan to summarise his experience with us so far: “Working at TRAMPOLINE Cafe was my first time working abroad and I was able to boost my confidence and make good friends who all helped me a lot. I really appreciate the TRAMPOLINE team for supporting me and giving me this opportunity."
